FileFlex v1.5.2 — Verified Copy & Stability Update
FileFlex v1.5.2 is focused on data safety, reliability, and UI polish. With this update, FileFlex is now stable enough for real-world creator workflows such as importing footage, photos, and project files.
New Features
Verified Copy (Checksum Verification)
You can now enable Verified Copy in Advanced Settings. After a file is copied, FileFlex calculates a SHA-256 checksum of the source file, calculates a checksum of the copied file, and confirms they match.
If verification fails, the transfer immediately stops and reports an error. This makes sure files copied from SD cards, cameras, or external drives are bit-perfect.
Transfer Phase Indicator
Active transfers now show the current phase, including Scanning, Copying, Verifying, Paused, and Completed. This makes it much clearer what FileFlex is doing at each stage of a transfer.
Verified File Counter
When verification is enabled, the queue now shows progress like Verified: 25 / 25, so you can see exactly how many files have been checked successfully.
Queue & UI Improvements
Smart Queue Panel Resizing
The queue panel now adjusts its height based on active transfers, expands when history is opened, and avoids layout overflow in smaller windows.
Collapsible History Panel
Transfer history now expands and collapses smoothly, has its own scroll area, and includes a Clear History option.
Improved Transfer Information
Active transfers now display progress percentage, file count, transfer speed, ETA, and transfer phase.
Reliability Improvements
Resume Support
FileFlex can now safely resume partially copied files. A safety check prevents resume if the source file has changed.
Safer Duplicate Handling
Duplicate file options — Skip, Rename, and Overwrite — now behave correctly when resumed transfers are involved.
Better Error Handling
Common issues now show clearer error messages, including disk full, permission denied, file in use, and verification failure.
UI Polish
• Fixed overflow warnings when expanding history
• Improved layout scaling in small window sizes
• Quick presets now display in a 3-column layout
• Fixed missing buttons in compact windows
• Improved text visibility on dark theme
Installer & Distribution
• Custom FileFlex application icon
• Windows installer built with Inno Setup
• Auto-update support through the website
• Install location inside AppData for user installs
What’s planned next
SD Card Auto-Import
Future updates will let FileFlex start transfers automatically when an SD card is inserted. The goal is a workflow like:
Insert SD Card → FileFlex detects card → Choose preset → Transfer starts automatically
Metadata Folder Sorting
Future versions will be able to organise files using metadata, such as sorting by year, month, day, camera, or project folder structure.
Transfer Integrity Improvements
Planned improvements include faster hashing algorithms, parallel verification, and retry logic for corrupted files.
macOS Version
Because FileFlex is built with Flutter, expanding beyond Windows remains a realistic future option.
Vision for FileFlex
FileFlex is aiming to become a professional file ingest tool for creators by combining fast transfers, data safety, automation, and workflow presets into something simpler and more accessible.
The long-term goal is to offer some of the confidence of tools like Hedge or ShotPut, but in a cleaner and more approachable experience.
